Austrian Audio The Arranger Reference Open-Back Studio Headphones
The Austrian Audio The Arranger are premium open-back reference headphones designed for highly accurate music reproduction, critical listening and professional studio work. Combining Austrian Audio’s acoustic engineering with a robust European-made construction, they are intended for engineers, producers and demanding listeners who value tonal accuracy, spatial definition and long-term usability.
At the heart of The Arranger is a proprietary 44 mm high-excursion dynamic driver featuring a diaphragm with DLC — Diamond-Like Carbon — coating. The high rigidity of the coated diaphragm supports fast transient behaviour and controlled movement, helping the headphones reproduce fine musical details with low distortion.
The driver system also incorporates Austrian Audio’s proprietary ring magnet architecture. Together with the DLC-coated diaphragm, it is engineered to provide precise impulse response, controlled low-frequency reproduction and consistent performance throughout the frequency spectrum.
With a wide 5 Hz to 30 kHz frequency response, The Arranger extend well beyond the conventional audible range. Bass reaches deep without relying on excessive emphasis, while the midrange and high frequencies are designed to preserve definition and clarity for detailed evaluation of recordings.
The open-back architecture contributes to a spacious and natural presentation with clear separation between individual instruments and voices. This makes The Arranger particularly suitable for critical listening and professional applications where stereo positioning, depth and ambience need to be evaluated accurately.
An impedance of 25 ohms and sensitivity of 110 dB SPL/V provide broad compatibility with different playback systems. The headphones can be integrated with professional audio interfaces and dedicated headphone amplifiers while remaining practical with suitably capable portable audio sources.
The detachable connection system is designed for additional flexibility. The standard configuration uses a 3.5 mm TRS connection, while optional balanced cables with Pentaconn or XLR connectivity can be used with compatible equipment. A 3.5 mm to 6.3 mm adapter is also supplied for conventional professional audio hardware.
Comfort is supported by soft suede-leather ear pads and a carefully engineered headband intended for extended listening and studio sessions. The predominantly metal construction provides structural rigidity while retaining a refined, contemporary appearance.
Unlike many high-end headphone designs, The Arranger are also foldable, making them easier to store and transport. This allows a reference-class open-back model to remain practical for engineers and listeners who regularly move between different working environments.
Serviceability is an important part of the design. The ear pads and headband can be replaced, extending the usable life of the headphones and reducing the need to replace the complete product as wearable components age.
Manufactured in Europe, the Austrian Audio The Arranger combine a 44 mm DLC-coated driver, open-back architecture, low distortion and serviceable construction in a reference headphone system designed for precise monitoring and high-resolution music listening.
