Neumann U 47 fet
The Neumann U 47 fet is an iconic large-diaphragm condenser microphone that combines the tonal heritage of the original U 47 with a refined FET design. First introduced in 1972, it became a studio reference for its smooth upper range, rich midrange and exceptionally controlled low-frequency response.
Built around Neumann’s K 47 capsule, the U 47 fet delivers a balanced cardioid response with excellent presence and detail. Its ability to handle extremely high sound pressure levels makes it equally suited to vocals, electric guitars, brass instruments, bass cabinets and kick drums.
A switchable pad expands its maximum SPL capability up to 147 dB, while additional low-frequency and output attenuation controls provide greater flexibility when working with different sources and preamps. The distinctive swivel mount allows precise positioning in demanding professional recording environments.
