Audio-Technica ATH-M50x DS IB Professional Studio Monitor Headphones

The Audio-Technica ATH-M50x DS IB are professional closed-back studio monitor headphones from the renowned M-Series, designed for critical listening, tracking, mixing and DJ monitoring. This edition combines the established ATH-M50x acoustic platform with the distinctive Deep Sea / Ice Blue finish.

At the heart of the ATH-M50x are proprietary 45 mm dynamic drivers equipped with rare-earth neodymium magnets and copper-clad aluminium wire voice coils. The driver system is engineered to deliver high clarity across an extended 15 Hz to 28 kHz frequency range, providing detailed reproduction from deep low frequencies through the upper register.

The closed-back circumaural construction surrounds the ears and provides effective passive sound isolation, an important advantage when tracking in the studio or monitoring in louder environments. The design helps reduce external interference while also limiting sound leakage toward nearby microphones.

With an impedance of 38 ohms and sensitivity of 99 dB, the ATH-M50x can be driven from a wide range of professional and portable audio equipment. They can be connected to studio interfaces, headphone amplifiers, mixers and DJ equipment without requiring unusually powerful amplification.

The earcups rotate through 90 degrees, allowing convenient single-ear monitoring — particularly useful for DJs and engineers who need to alternate quickly between the headphone signal and the surrounding sound.

A collapsible construction makes the headphones easier to transport and store between sessions. The padded headband and circumaural earcups are designed for extended monitoring sessions while maintaining a secure fit.

The ATH-M50x also uses a detachable single-sided cable system, allowing the cable to be selected according to the working environment. Three cables are supplied: a 3 m coiled cable, a 3 m straight cable and a shorter 1.2 m straight cable.

A standard 3.5 mm audio connection and included 6.3 mm adapter provide compatibility with both compact devices and professional studio equipment. A protective carrying pouch is also supplied for storage and transportation.

Combining closed-back isolation, 45 mm drivers, detachable cabling and practical rotating earcups, the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x DS IB are designed as versatile professional monitoring headphones for studio production, recording and DJ workflows.
