The Clearaudio Concept Black (TP065MM) is a precision-engineered Hi-Fi turntable designed to combine sophisticated analogue technology with straightforward operation. Developed around Clearaudio’s plug-and-play philosophy, it incorporates engineering solutions associated with the brand’s higher-end turntables in a clean, contemporary platform.

The Concept chassis is built around a carefully engineered MDF structure, selected to provide rigidity and controlled resonance behaviour. Its upper surface incorporates a specialised high-tech satin-finished polymer layer designed to suppress unwanted mechanical resonance while giving the turntable its distinctive minimalist appearance.

A key part of the construction is the substantial POM polymer platter. With a mass exceeding 2 kg, it provides high rotational inertia and stable support for the record while offering favourable damping characteristics for analogue playback.

The platter is driven by a DC motor powered from an external regulated power supply. The motor is mechanically decoupled from the main chassis, reducing the transfer of vibration into the platter, tonearm and cartridge. Electronic speed control provides convenient and accurate selection of the required playback speed.

One of the Concept’s most distinctive technical features is its 9-inch aluminium tonearm with a friction-free magnetic bearing system. By reducing mechanical contact within the bearing assembly, the design aims to minimise friction and tracking interference while allowing the cartridge to follow the record groove with high precision.

The tonearm provides adjustment of tracking force, anti-skating, VTA and azimuth, giving the system extensive setup flexibility. This TP065MM configuration is supplied with a Clearaudio Concept MM Moving Magnet cartridge, creating a factory-matched analogue package ready for integration into a high-quality Hi-Fi system.

The Concept supports 33⅓, 45 and 78 rpm, making it suitable for a broader range of vinyl records than conventional two-speed designs. Speed selection is electronic, eliminating the need to reposition the drive belt manually.

There is no integrated phono preamplifier or digital processing. The turntable uses a fixed RCA output cable and is intended for connection to a dedicated MM phono stage or an amplifier equipped with a compatible phono input.

Finished in Black, the Clearaudio Concept combines restrained German industrial design with advanced mechanical engineering. Its heavy POM platter, isolated motor system, magnetic-bearing tonearm and factory-installed Concept MM cartridge create a sophisticated analogue platform with an emphasis on precision and simplicity.
