TEAC TN-3B-SE/CH Hi-Fi Turntable in Cherry
The TEAC TN-3B-SE/CH in Cherry is a refined belt-drive Hi-Fi turntable combining a rigid MDF chassis, precision aluminium platter and a sophisticated S-shaped tonearm developed jointly by TEAC and SAEC. With an integrated switchable MM phono stage and factory-installed Audio-Technica cartridge, it is designed for straightforward integration into both traditional and modern Hi-Fi systems.
The low-profile chassis is constructed from high-density MDF and finished with multiple layers of lacquer. Its underside incorporates a textured honeycomb structure designed to help suppress unwanted vibration, while four aluminium feet with rubber damping elements provide additional mechanical isolation from the supporting surface.
A 300 mm die-cast aluminium platter provides a stable rotating platform for the record. The belt-drive mechanism is powered by a DC motor and engineered to maintain smooth platter rotation while reducing the direct transmission of motor vibration. Playback speeds of 33⅓ and 45 rpm are selected electronically.
One of the TN-3B-SE’s most important components is its S-shaped aluminium tonearm, developed in collaboration with specialist tonearm manufacturer SAEC. The statically balanced design uses precision knife-edge bearings, providing stable movement with very low mechanical resistance and accurate tracking of the record groove.
The tonearm features a detachable universal headshell, allowing compatible cartridges to be changed more conveniently. Tracking force and anti-skating are adjustable, while the tonearm supports cartridges from 3 to 12 g excluding the headshell.
TEAC supplies the turntable with the Audio-Technica AT-VM95E, a Dual Moving Magnet cartridge equipped with an elliptical stylus. It is a proven cartridge platform that combines accurate tracking with the possibility of straightforward stylus replacement.
A built-in switchable MM phono preamplifier uses low-noise NJM8080 operational amplifiers. With the phono stage engaged, the TN-3B-SE can connect directly to a standard line-level input. It can also be bypassed when using a dedicated external phono preamplifier.
Gold-plated RCA PHONO/LINE outputs and a separate grounding terminal provide flexible analogue connectivity. The turntable is also supplied with a felt platter mat, external power adapter and removable dust cover.
Finished in elegant Cherry, the TEAC TN-3B-SE combines traditional Hi-Fi styling with carefully engineered mechanical components. Its SAEC-developed tonearm, Audio-Technica cartridge and switchable phono stage make it a versatile analogue source designed for serious everyday vinyl playback.
